Over the weekend, Lorraine shared on her Instagram that she was undergoing surgery. She assured fans that it was nothing serious and that she was going to be okay. As expected following surgery, Lorraine Kelly missed her usual morning slot on Lorraine and was replaced by Sian Welby.
Sian briefly spoke about the missing host, wishing Lorraine a ‘speedy recovery’, as per Nottinghamshire Live:
First though, before we get started, obviously we want to wish Lorraine a speedy recovery. You might have seen her post over the weekend. She's been in hospital for an operation; I know she's planning to be back here as soon as she can.
Lorraine Kelly had preventative keyhole surgery
As mentioned above, Lorraine Kelly posted a video on her Instagram on Saturday, May 3, telling her followers that she was having keyhole surgery after ‘not feeling all that well for a little while’. This led Kelly to seek medical attention.
Following several scans and tests, she was advised to have keyhole surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. The 65-year-old assured her fans that this was ‘purely preventative’ and that she would be ‘totally fine’.
It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon, and I'm gonna be totally fine.
Naturally, fellow TV stars, including Holly Willoughby, who's company is facing debt, Dr Amir Khan, and Vanessa Feltz, commented on Lorraine’s post and sent their love.
They wrote respectively:
Sending you lots of love and get well soon 💕
Wishing you a speedy recovery – you are the best!
Thinking of you and sending love. Let me know if you fancy a visit. Love V xx
