Hailey and Justin Bieber have allegedly been involved in more love triangles than one. And this time, the feud was apparently over Hailey.

Hailey and Justin Bieber have recently been making headlines when Hailey was spotted with Justin’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. They were seen hanging out together and even posed for a couple of pictures. This gave an end to the rumored bad blood between the two that linked them to a love triangle with Justin.

However, Selena wasn’t the only one linked to a speculated Justin-Hailey love triangle. Justin is said to have feuded with someone else over Hailey. Here’s who it is.

The (other) third person

Justin and Hailey have been happily married for three years. However, right before Hailey got together with Justin, another popular pop star was in her life. Hailey was romantically linked to Shawn Mendes right before she married Justin. This ultimately lead to an alleged feud between the 'Senorita' and 'Intentions' singers.

Both Shawn and Justin were often compared to each other. Being young Canadian singers, they seemed to have a lot in common. At least, more than they let on.

What went down between Bieber and Mendes?

There were a lot of undercurrents between the two pop stars. As per Cheatsheet, it was Justin who first fired the shots in 2015, when he said he didn’t know who Shawn even was. Shawn had already made a name and space for himself in the music scene by then.

Hailey started dating Justin right after making a public appearance as Mendes’ date for the 2018 Met Gala. And they soon tied the knot. Unfortunately, things allegedly became awkward right after this.

Bieber and Mendes - The current status

Both Justin and Shawn have let bygones be bygones and seemed to have moved on. As per OK Magazine, Mendes admitted that the friendship between Bieber and him was new, and they bonded over their 2020 collaboration 'Monster'.
