In early May 2025, the trial of Sean 'Diddy' Combs opened in the United States. The rapper has been accused of racketeering and sex trafficking. One of the key witnesses in the trial is American actress Cassie Ventura, who testified to the physical, verbal and emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. These accusations were supported by surveillance camera videos given into evidence.
Cassie is now happily married to the rapper's former personal trainer, Alex Fine.
Cassie Ventura found love again after P. Diddy
Cassie Ventura was in an on-and-off relationship with rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs from 2007 until 2018, when she finally managed to leave the abusive relationship. That same year, she entered a relationship with her personal trainer Alex Fine, and the couple quickly tied the knot in 2019. Alex Fine wrote an open letter to his wife that same year, vowing to stand by her side as she faced her abuser in court proceedings. He wrote:
I promise you that I will do every single thing in my power to support you and help you. I promise that you will never be alone. I promise that you will be loved beyond expectation and we will show our children how to be in a healthy relationship.
The couple's strength seems to stem from their shared history with domestic abuse. Indeed, Alex Fine's mother was also a victim, which has reportedly inspired him to raise awareness. In 2020, the trainer opened up about why he chose to run a 50-mile marathon to raise money for his domestic violence charity, Almost Home. He said:
When I got the news that my mom had been the victim of domestic abuse and violence, I really didn’t know how to handle it. I was angry - part of me wanted to hurt the person who did this to her and the other part of me felt paralyzed.
Seeing his mother relive her trauma during her three-year trial pushed him to start his own charity. He explained:
I didn’t want to give in to those paralyzing feelings. So, I decided to channel my anger and feelings of helplessness by running fifty miles to bring awareness and hopefully raise some money for other victims of domestic violence.
Alex Fine was the rapper's personal trainer
Alex Fine was P. Diddy's personal trainer before he moved on to becoming Cassie Ventura's trainer, which eventually led them to falling in love. Since marrying the actress, he has made a career change, becoming a model and actor. He notably acted in 1883, The Resurrection of Charles Manson, as well as American Primeval and MobLand.
The couple welcomed two daughters together: Frankie in 2019, and Sunny in 2021. Alex Fine has often said he wishes his daughters can live in a world that is safer for all girls and women. He wrote on Instagram:
To the women and children, you’re not alone, and you are heard. Our daughters, sisters, mothers and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the upmost regard. … To all the survivors, find the men and women who help and love.
