Sometimes people push things too far in order to boost their ego. Every year, in Juarez, Mexico, a weightlifting competition is held between men. The problem? They also put their dogs to the test. These dogs are forced to pull tonnes upon tonnes of concrete.

The stronger the dog, the stronger the man

Unfortunately for these dogs, they are pushed way too hard by their owners, sometimes being made to pull 4 tonnes of stone. Considering the fact that the human is supposed to look out for the good of the dog and provide it with food and safety, the dogs are obliged to obey their commands.

When the dogs finally complete their pull and ‘prove their worth’, their masters don’t hesitate to pile on even more weight. This tradition is clearly a form of animal abuse, yet still continues to happen despite many petitions being created to outlaw it.
