In Greensburg in the state of Pennsylvania, the Pee Wee Pumps company caused quite a controversy when they launched their latest model of shoes for babies… with high heels. And to promote them, the company dressed the babies up as adults and put them in the famous shoes. Although some people liked these eccentric models, lots of people took to Facebook to express their outrage, claiming that they were sexualising babies!

It has to be said that leopard, zebra and satin patterns and designs are generally reserved for adults. And the names of these models didn’t help their case either: ‘sassy’, ‘diva’ and even ‘glamorous’ which didn’t escape some parents’ attention who said they were disgusted by the company.

Pee Wee Pumps stood their ground and explained that their only intention was to develop shoes that were both cute and funny! Clearly not everyone was laughing…
