Amid the announcement, news broke that Amanda Bynes is reportedly seeking treatment to help her with her on-going mental health difficulties. This is not the first time She's The Man star has opened up about her battle with mental health. In 2018, she opened up to Paper Magazine:

Everybody is different, obviously, but for me, the mixture of marijuana and whatever other drugs and sometimes drinking really messed up my brain. It really made me a completely different person.

The couple reportedly split last week after sharing all loved-up snaps on Instagram and just three weeks after their Valentine's Day engagement announcement, raising concerns from fans who were worried about Amanda being back on drugs and alcohol.

Her lawyer, David Esquibias asked for ‘privacy’ on behalf of his client. He elaborated in a statement to People:

Any reports that Amanda is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction issues are completely false. We ask for privacy during this time, and for any speculation about her personal life from the public and the media to cease so Amanda can focus on getting better.

According to the actress' attorney, Bynes is currently in a treatment centre working on her mental health.
