The Love Island couple had a messy breakup and has taken some savage digs at each other on social media since news broke earlier this month. Higgins recently shared a video with her fans via an Instagram story for the #lockdownchallenge in which she took Curtis' electric toothbrush to the inside of her toilet. She said:

While Curtis shared a snap of his family with the caption:
I can always rely on mum and dad to support me and tell the truth....
That was all it took to get Ex On the Beach producers' attention. The Love Island couple's breakup fits perfectly for the show. The Sun had recently revealed that Maura had grown close to her Dancing On Ice skate partner Alexander Demetriou and the rumours around Curtis cheating on Maura with professional dancer Amber Pierson. It seems the pair is still holding grudges against each other.
According to the Sun, MTV executives are desperate to sign former Love Island couple Curtis and Maura for Ex On The Beach. The professional dancer is currently a big hit on The Greatest Dancer and Maura just finished filming some high profile TV shows while becoming a fan favourite herself on Dancing On Ice. The pair are reportedly too busy with their own projects. Neither of the former islanders are keen to appear on the MTV show.
A source told the Sun:
Seen them hash out their relationship would be a ratings winner. But neither party is keen despite the offer of a huge pay packet
It's not the first dating show to have their eyes on the Irish bombshell. Celebs Go Dating was previously interested to sign Maura up for the next series of the show. An insider said:
Maura is exactly what Celebs Go Dating is all about. She's fun, feisty and is guaranteed to offer loads of entertainment for viewers. Now she's single she's free to do what she wants and this could be the perfect show for her to finally move on from Curtis.
On the other hand, Curtis has previously stated that he has no plans to start a new relationship as he wants to focus on his career.
