The 29-year-old doctor took to Instagram to share the light-hearted idea with his followers, writing:

‘So many patients are afraid especially with the PPE we wear and so I thought I would try and make them laugh or smile, even for a second. First patient “I am actually not sure what’s scarier” 😂😂😂’.

As well as working flat-out treating patients alongside the rest of his heroic NHS colleagues, Dr. Alex has also been using his platform to share information about the virus with his followers through Instagram posts and Youtube videos, helping to encourage people to stay home and disspelling social media myths and fake news about Covid-19.

Dr. Alex and Amelia Bath

Selfless Dr. Alex is also facing the trials of being apart from his long-term girlfriend Amelia Bath. Whilst fans will remember that he failed to find love on Love Island, he has been dating Ibiza Weekender star Amelia since November 2018. However, they’ve only been able to see each other via Facetime for the past month since Dr. Alex has been self-isolating alone since the end of March to avoid the risk of passing the virus on to his loved ones.

He admitted on his Youtube channel that it’s not been easy for them to be apart, saying that it ‘is difficult when you have a busy shift like today you want to go home and sit and chat with someone and just hang out with someone to relax after what happened, it’s hard when you can’t and you are on your own.’
