Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt got engaged recently, shortly after welcoming their daughter. But it almost all went wrong.
As romantic proposals go, Jamie Jewitt’s to Camilla Thurlow was one of the best. After a prank proposal way back in 2018, Jamie knocked it out of the park when he proposed to Camilla for real this February, dressing their baby daughter Nell in a babygrow that read ‘Mummy will you marry my daddy?’.
How Jamie Jewitt’s proposal almost went wrong
Appearing on Lorraine, Camilla revealed that it almost didn’t happen, saying:
I nearly ruined the whole thing because I went to change her before dinner and he was like, 'No, no! I'll do that, don't worry!’ And so I would have found out a little bit too early but he managed to save it.
Lorraine spoke for the nation as she gushed about the sweet gesture, saying:
Do you know what? That's one of the loveliest proposals I've ever heard! Never mind going to the Eiffel Tower and all that malarkey with diamond rings! All you want is your wee baby being part of it, it's lovely!
When are Camilla and Jamie getting married?
It’s not clear whether Camilla and Jamie have officially set a date yet. Uncertainty over changing coronavirus restrictions has added an extra layer of difficulty for any couples hoping to get wed this year but planning for their wedding is ‘well underway’ according to Camilla. She revealed on Instagram last week that they ‘are hoping to do it sooner rather than later’.
Unless any other couples sneak in there first with some surprise nuptials, they will most likely be the fourth Love Island UK couple to tie the knot, following on from series 2’s Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey and Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen and fellow series 3 alumni Jess Shears and Dom Lever.
