Yesterday, Katie Price’s new book Katie Price: Harvey and Mewas published by Mirror Books, with the former glamour model getting remarkably candid about her experience raising disabled son Harvey.

Despite not ever wanting to change a thing about him, Katie admitted in her bear-all book that her journey with her 19-year-old son - who has multiple disabilities including autism, Prader-Willi Syndrome and partial blindness - did come with its fair share of speedbumps.
Here are a few bombshells Katie reveals in her book:
1. Katie went to an abortion clinic three times while pregnant with Harvey
In her book, Price admitted that she visited an abortion clinic three times while pregnant with Harvey before deciding that she couldn’t go through with it.
The reality TV star explained that she couldn’t get past the car park on her first visit. On the second, she was sitting in the waiting room, waiting for her name to be called before bolting. Katie penned:
Having an abortion wasn’t a decision I took lightly – I don’t think it is for any woman.
2. Katie refused to give birth on her back
When it came to delivering to Harvey in 2002, Katie Price explained the strange reason she refused to give birth on her back, fearing that doctors would be looking at her privates. Instead, Katie welcomed her eldest son into the world on all fours. She explained:
I know it sounds silly, but I just thought they would be judging me because I was this pin-up girl and they'd go home and tell all their mates they'd seen Jordan's 'bits’.
Katie added: ‘I know it's totally ridiculous and doctors don't even think about that, but I was convinced.’
3. Katie fired a nanny after catching them recording Harvey naked in the bath
In another excerpt, Katie revealed she had once fired one of Harvey’s nannies. The nanny had apparently begun acting weird after leaving her phone at Katie’s home, leading the mum to get suspicious. Katie then discovered that the nanny had secretly taken videos of Harvey naked in the bath.
We ended up calling the police. Nothing came of it, but we got rid of her straight away. After going through such a bad time, I felt more protective over Harvey than ever.
However, this wasn’t the only time Katie ended up firing a nanny. She also let go two more, claiming they both had affairs with her third husband, Kieran Hayler.
4. Katie wants to adopt a child with special needs
Not only does Katie feel blessed to have Harvey in her life, but she revealed she also hopes to adopt a special needs child in the future. She wrote:
When we knew something was wrong with Harvey, I didn’t think, ‘I don’t want him.’ It was actually the complete opposite. I felt more love and protection than I could ever have imagined.
She added: 'It’s weird because I sit here now and think that I would easily have another baby if it was like Harvey. I would even like to adopt a child with disabilities in the future.'
5. Katie claims Dwight Yorke disowned Harvey
In her book, Katie also addressed Harvey’s relationship with father Dwight Yorke. Price explained that Dwight last spoke to Harvey over the phone on his 10th birthday.
The star last saw the ex-footballer at a restaurant in 2012, where he supposedly made his feelings clear that he didn’t want anything to do with his son.
However, in his 2009 autobiography, Born to Score, Dwight claimed that it was actually Katie that kept him from Harvey. Of course, this was a few years before his supposed last meeting with Price.
Dwight wrote: ‘Over the years I have heard Katie saying how Andre is Harvey's dad and what a terrible, uncaring father I have been, all of which sticks in my throat.’
Maybe if she had not made life so difficult for me, I might have been able to take a far more proactive role.
Katie’s mother Amy also weighed in on Dwight’s relationship with Harvey, claiming that Yorke’s agent keeps in touch, but Dwight never makes any contact himself:
It's such a shame. In 2020, Harvey was hospitalised and was really poorly in intensive care. Dwight’s agent rang me and asked how bad he was.
‘I said, ‘Look, this has got to stop now. If Dwight wants to know about Harvey, he’s got our number and he should ring us himself.’ He shouldn’t be going through his agent. It’s about time he took some responsibility.’
