Demi Jones Comments On Luke M Split Rumours

Whilst Winter Love Island favourites Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott left the villa in February seeming totally loved up, rumours have been circulating that the couple have split – as they’re separated by the coronavirus lockdown and have disappeared from each other’s socials. Demi has now spoken out to clear things up.

It was a rollercoaster ride for Demi Jones in the Love Island villa. A late arrival, viewers were thrilled when she coupled up with fan favourite Nas Majeed. However, their relationship was short-lived as Nas shocked fans by betraying Demi for Eva Zapico in Casa Amor – despite Demi staying loyal.

However, there was a happy ending – as Demi ended up coupling up with Justin Bieber lookalike Luke M, and they soon became one of the cutest couples on the show and coming in third place behind winners Finn Tapp and Paige Turley and runners-up Luke Trotman and Siânnise Fudge.

But unlike Paige and Finn, Luke and Siânnise and fellow contestants Callum and Molly, Luke M and Demi have opted not to self-isolate together over the course of the coronavirus lockdown – and so are currently miles away from each other and haven’t been able to meet up in person for weeks.

Eagle-eyed social media users were also worried this week when they noticed that Luke had stopped liking Demi’s Instagram posts – which he had previously been non-stop liking and commenting on. Worried fans took to the comments to ask Demi what was going on between the two of them.

But Demi has spoken out to squash rumours of a split, telling fans in a Youtube Q&A:

Where we’re not in a relationship yet, it didn’t feel right to self-isolate with each other, we thought this is the time to be without families, so that’s what we decided to do… We still text and call really often. We text every day, so guys it’s still very much there, we’re just gonna reassess when this is all over, meet back up and go from there.

So whilst they’re not totally on, they’re not totally off either – fingers crossed things work out for them when this is all over!
