The Grammy winner will even be having one of her favourite US singer-songwriters, H.E.R as her guest.

Her big-time debut on the long-running sketch series is being described as a ‘standalone moment’ as the event is not tied to her releasing any new music. Adele posted on Instagram on Sunday stating:

Bloooooody hellllll. I'm so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first-ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!! I've always wanted to do it as a stand-alone moment so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right. But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump headfirst into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it's 2020 right?

The UK pop star added:

It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election...which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no! I am beside myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all.

The Someone Like You singer made her first appearance on SNL back in 2008 to perform her singles Chasing Pavements and Cold Shoulder before returning again in 2015 to promote her new album 25, performing stunning renditions of Hello and When We Were Young.

It has been rumoured that Adele has been back in the studio recording her fourth album but since the end of her tour in 2017, the star has kept a relatively low profile.

The Hello singer is known for keeping her private life private but she does let fans in on a few things. In the last year, Adelewent through a breakup with her husband Simon Konecki and announced on her 31st birthday that she had ’changed drastically in the last couple years’.

Adele’s fans really have noticed a rather big change in the star as she also went through a rather noticeable physical transformation. Over the year Adele has been releasing the odd Instagram post flaunting her slim and toned figure, claiming that her lifestyle changes were motivated by Glennon Doyle’s self-help book Untamed.
