Showing off one's post-pregnancy body is not an easy task for many mums. After undergoing nine months of pregnancy and childbirth, a woman's body can be very different - but no less beautiful. This is the message a British brand wanted to spread by publishing photos of women who have recently become mothers. Read on to find out more.
After pregnancy, a woman's body changes, which is normal. But new mums sometimes have trouble accepting their new figure. Whether it's looser skin, stretch marks or scars, the birth of a baby can leave traces. All mums should be proud of this because these marks mean that they have done something amazing.
But unfortunately body stigmas and the push for perfect beauty force some new mums to hide their bodies away. No mother should be ashamed of her body. So to encourage them to love each other and to accept each other, the British brand Mothercare, which sells products entirely dedicated to maternity and children, has launched a body positivity campaign.
At the beginning of each post of a photo of a mum in underwear the sign says ‘At Mothercare, we think that all moms are beautiful and should feel proud and confident about their bodies’ followed by the hashtag #BodyProudMums which has also allowed many moms to join the movement by posting their postpartum bodies on Instagram.
‘Beautiful, isn’t she’ is the slogan written on this campaign’s photos. Do you agree?
